Cybercriminals frequently use social engineering techniques to persuade their victims to disclose personal information.

The internet has become an integral part of our lives, and we rely on it for everything from shopping to entertainment, socializing to learning. However, with the increasing internet use, the risk of cyber threats has also increased significantly.

The fact that young individuals are more likely to be the target of hackers is one of the key reasons why cybersecurity awareness training is crucial for them. Children frequently use social media platforms more than adults and frequently reveal private information. Given that they possess this information, cybercriminals can easily target them and leverage it to steal their identity, hack their accounts, or even partake in cyberbullying.

On 20th February 2023, Mr. Sagar Khadka, Senior Information Systems Security Auditor with 4+ years of experience in the field, gave a training session to the class 6 students of Omega Secondary School.

Mr. Sagar also explained how cybercriminals frequently use social engineering techniques to persuade their victims to disclose personal information or download malware. Cybersecurity awareness training can stop children from falling for such fraud by educating them to think critically and question the reliability of online requests. Youth can profit from the internet's advantages without placing themselves in danger if they have the necessary knowledge and abilities.

The program is an initiative to encourage the development of cybersecurity awareness in the community so that everyone can understand and take responsibility for their cyber safety and cyber hygiene.
